Physics Physics Physics Department Offers Exceptional Research, Mentoring, and Professional Placement Additional Navigation Academics Admission Student Life Faculty and Research Alumni and Giving About Us In the heart of Washington, D.C., Catholic University’s Department of Physics offers unique opportunities and unparalleled access to the nation’s top scientific research institutions: the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), the Vitreous State Laboratory (VSL), the Jefferson Lab, and the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN). For this reason, the Department of Physics is an ideal place to to pursue an undergraduate and graduate degree. We are also closely affiliated with leaders in industry, engineering, and technology. We specialize in mentoring and matching a student's curriculum with exceptional research scholars, engineers, and faculty throughout their scholastic career. We also offer guidance and assistance along with professional placement following graduation. Our students have continued their careers in national laboratories such as the Army Research Laboratory (ARL), the Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC), the Naval Research Laboratory (NRL), the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) the National Science Foundation (NSF), the Department of Energy (DOE), and the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). Catholic University Physics is research integrated, we offer paid internships, and we specialize in manageably sized classes. We foster a hands-on environment.
